Stay At Home Round Robin Border 2

SAHRR is hosted by guest bloggers each week who provide a "prompt" for the next round. The prompt from Emily at The Darling Dogwood for this week was Plus Blocks. You might have to squint to see mine, as I added a dark green plus to a deep red background.

If I keep adding borders at this rate, I will end up with a gigantic square quilt, so my intention was to add length to the square block by only adding a top and bottom border. I kept it simple with only two centered plus blocks.

My blocks finished at 6-1/2 inches, so I added about a foot to the length. That gives me a better proportion for the remainder of the quilt, which already measures 38 x 50 inches - I'll have to make the other borders tiny!

Be sure to check out other really cool plus block designs at The Darling Dogwood.

  1. Did the same thing-added only to the horizontal sides to make it a rectangle. Trying not to add big rounds so as not to have a huge quilt at the end. So my pluses are 2" square unfinished. Mine measures 16 1/2 by 20 1/2 so far. Yours doesn't seem that big. How big is your plus block?
I like what you have so far. Neat!

  3. Interesting way you did the plus. This week is going to be flying geese. You will have a large quilt. I started off with the 20 x 20 inch centers and believe a lot of the others were using smaller centers. I am glad that I stopped with the first border. Hugs
