Welcome to To Do Tuesday, where we pat each other on the back and encourage one another. October has finally arrived, and I fell into Fall immediately. I wish that scene above was the road to my house!
This is a pattern I recently purchased called Gemstones by QuiltFOX Design
I continue to purchase patterns as if I don't already have a million in my closet. The one above was on sale at a quilt shop, so I actually bought a paper pattern instead of my usual PDF. I think it's beautiful and hope to make it soon, but it may wait till next year.
Pieces of The Santa Fe Trail blocks
Last week was up and down both physically (a brief stomach virus) and emotionally (stressful family situation) so my concentration was off; but working on projects always provides a soothing rhythm in my life.
Here were my goals for last week:
✅1. Piece and sandwich Exploding Heart and DashAlong - Progress - I pieced the backing for Exploding Heart and will do DashAlong today
2. Piece backing for SAHRR Christmas quilt - I plan to do this today
✅3. Big stitch, embroidery, and cross stitch at night - Progress on big stitch
✅4. Catch up on Pieces of the Santa Fe Trail blocks - Progress - I have completed five blocks and have four more to do to catch up with the SAL
Here is what I hope to accomplish this coming week:
1. Hand stitching at night
2. Santa Fe Trail blocks
3. Indian Corn blocks
4. Quilt Exploding Heart, DashAlong, and SAHRR
So now it's your turn! Tell us what you've been up to and go for a visit or two to give someone a pat on the back.
Sorry about the stomach virus, those are definitely no fun. Hope the family situation has been resolved to a good ending. Enjoy your stitching time this week and good luck with your to do list.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about sewing providing a soothing rythm to life when other things are creating stress! Hope this week is a better one for you. I love seeing your Santa Fe Trail blocks, and thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteStomach virus is not fun, hope you are feeling better and all is smoothed for a good ending with the family stress. Happy stitching time, Linda and good luck with your goals for this week.
ReplyDeleteOh, me too! I'd love to have that road to my house!! Plenty of stress my way, too. Sometimes it's hard to focus and get into that rhythm but we'll get there and all will be well! Thanks for hosting TTD!
ReplyDeleteHi, I think it adds enjoyment to our days to purchase or download new patterns...keeps us looking forward to the future. Your Santa Fe blocks are beauties and the fabrics suit them perfectly. Hope this week will be smoother sailing! :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall photo...hope your feeling better. I agree, working on a quilt
helps me when I get stressed out. Your Santa Fe blocks are looking good.
Have a great day!
3/4 is very good. Sorry about the virus and family stress. Hope this week is better!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I'm sorry your week had you feeling poorly, but I hope it's all behind you. Boy, that is one pretty Fall road and I wouldn't mind if it led to my house, too. Although I wouldn't want to have to rake up those leaves!! Buying patterns is like buying fabrics - we all have enough but sometimes you need something new to spark an interest or to be your mojo back! Thanks for the linky party today! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteHope things are better there, both physically and emotionally. Your Santa Fe blocks are looking really good! That quilt pattern is going to be a fun one!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my place. You asked what size the Candy Hearts quilt is....I'm not really sure..I don't measure, I just put them together until it looks like the size I can handle. I've got limited space to lay a quilt out...which is my floor. And I'm limited as to putting it together. I have Arthritis, so getting on the fl 58.75" W x 36" D x 36.5" Hoor is out of the question. So all my quilts have to fit on my cutting table. Which is
58.75" W x 36" D x 36.5" H. Most of the quilts I make are a little bigger than a standard lap quilt. Thanks for asking about my Candy Hearts....have a great day!
Thanks for the link party! What an interesting pattern, don't make us wait until next year! LOL. I am continuing to pray for your family.
ReplyDeleteCould we just hide under the bed and the family issues and Idiot Stress not find us? LOL. Hang in there and hang on think we might have some more rough patches from Idiot Stress, but I am determined to bury all that is in the past, that way I can prepare myself for more upsets! OOPS a little cynicism over here. LOL. You know, I may make a DUMP IT quilt... If I could ever get my creativity back! Have a good Thursday - I finished NOTHING NEW !
ReplyDeleteThose Santa Fe Trail blocks are fabulous. My favorite one is the one second from the left on the top row.
ReplyDeleteOh your santa fe trail blocks are so great! nd I understand about the patterns - at least you have inspirations!! Feel better!
