New under counter lights helped brighten the counters.
I am happy to report that our kitchen cabinets were painted and the backsplash addition was completed, and we are very happy with the results. You can see the before and after right here, but I am showing you an update since my husband added some under counter lights!
Blocks for Riley Blake Design Block Challenge
Here were my goals last week:
✅1. Work on catching up with Riley Blake Design block challenge - DONE!
2. Make a few blocks for the Wedding Quilt - No progress
✔3. Catch up on SAHRR - Progress! I appliqued a heart in the center and only have one more round to do
SAHRR (Stay At Home Round Robin) with appliqued heart in the center.
It's a little lopsided, but that makes it perfect, right?
Last week I was feeling a bit harried and a little discouraged about not being "caught up" on my projects. Then dear Bonnie reminded me "ah Linda quilting isn't a race". Those were just the words I needed to hear, so thanks Bonnie! It helped me relax and enjoy just being in the sewing room, and now my joy is back!
Here is what I hope to accomplish in the coming week:
1. Do final round on SAHRR - a shoofly block
2. Work on Wedding Quilt
3. Do first row for Pieces in the Garden SAL (see sidebar for details)
Now it's your turn! Add your post to the link below, then head over to other blogs to see what great projects your friends have going on. We have several who link up later in the week, so be sure to check back in a few days for additions to the linky party.
Please add Marsha's Spot blog to your list. I personally have issues with the Inlinkz link to her blog, so if you are having the same problems, just copy the link below and paste it into your browser. Marsha has some beautiful projects and has a booth where she sells her creations!

Also Joy of Days Filled With Joy has a new linkup called Monday This and That. Go check it out and add your post about any "this and that" you want!
Loved looking at your Riley Blake blocks having done them all myself. So interesting to see how everyone does them. Your SAHRR looks really creative. Very Christmas. Must be nice to work in your new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteBonnie's words are so wise! I know I tend to put too much on my to do list and feel bad when I can't get it all done... Your lights make a lot of difference in the kitchen! Love your blocks and your round robin, you are achieving a lot! Thanks for linking to my blog and for hosting this party! xx
ReplyDeleteYour husband made a great job on your kitchen, Linda and you made beautiful blocks for the RBD blocks.
ReplyDeleteBonnie is perfect right, quilting is not a race, do it in your time and enjoy.
Such a bright kitchen, all the white with the black accents really works. It is so easy to get caught up in finishes and such on the quilting front. I'm trying really hard this year to just appreciate the progress on make on each project and not focus on the finishes this year. I'm hoping I'll be a lot less stressed out. Of course I should never have agreed to make graduation quilts, sewing to a deadline is not one those low stress situations. Good luck with this week's list.
ReplyDeletelove your after shot of the kitchen it looks like a new room doesn't it - it is always fun to work in a new kitchen
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bonnie! What you get done in your quilting is what you get done. Your kitchen is looking amazing, Linda! The under cabinet lighting is a great idea. I love the heart appliqued in the center of your SAHRR, and the Riley Blake blocks are so pretty! You're really coming right along!
ReplyDeleteI still can't get over your kitchen renovation / transformation. The added under-cabinet lights also make a big difference. Your SAHRR project is so pretty. It'll will be interesting to see how you incorporate the shoofly blocks next.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is awesome...love the color of your back splash. Your Riley Blake blocks
are beautiful....and your SAHRR is looking good. Have a great day!
Hard to believe that it’s March, but I am so ready for it to be here. Your kitchen looks great. Undercabinet lighting belongs in every home kitchen. I would be lost without mine.
ReplyDeleteThe appliqué heart and embroidery in the center of SAHRR is lovely! I hope you relax and have a fun week!
ReplyDeleteThe under cabinet lights are great! Glad you made some progress on SAHRR and some catching up on the RB Challenge. Good luck with your week.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Your kitchen looks fantastic!! So inviting and welcoming. You have to be thrilled! Isn't it amazing how just a different color of paint on the cabinets makes such a dramatic difference? The backsplash looks nice, too. I'll bet the granite is easier on the eyes now, too. It's such a pleasing palette, I think. Like a quilt, all the pieces fit nicely together. We have the undercabinet lights, too, and they make all the difference when working on a task or even just for some low ambient lighting. {{Hugs}} I'm happy for you! The RB blocks are in a pleasing palette, too. And your SAHRR - the heart in the center . . . just where it should be!! Don't feel like you need to rush for the final row. The parade isn't until the 21st - plenty of time to complete the row for a quilt top. No one says it must be a finished quilt to share. Great job all week and thanks so much for linky party. {{Hugs}} again ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen looks wonderful! Your SAHRR is perfect! Thanks for hosting the link up!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Kitchen make over. I love your Riley Blake blocks. Do not stress over not meeting a deadline - the stress is just not worth it! Hugs, and don’t worry about missing anything from the idiot! I am struggling to listen to him. What a liar!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks so bright and cheery! Isn't it amazing how paint can change an entire room? Oh, and those under the counter lights are a fabulous accent. Your Riley Blakes are so pretty - you have such an eye for color! Your Round Robin block is beautiful! So much detail and skilled sewing skills make it shine. :)
