Our grandson's new digs!
Yesterday our son, DIL, and one granddaughter (another granddaughter had to work) drove up from The Woodlands, north of Houston, to move our grandson to Dallas. Brandon is 23 and has a great job in Houston that allows him to work from home. Dallas is about 3 hours from where he has lived all his life, so this is a big step for him. Of course we are thrilled to have our first grandchild only 65 miles from us! He is leasing a 3-bedroom townhome with two of his friends, and he will be much closer to his girlfriend who lives in Oklahoma! My husband and I drove down to tour his townhome, which is in a gated community in a trendy area near downtown Dallas.
Here we are with our daughter, the two Littles, our DIL, and granddaughter in front, and our son and grandson in the back. We had just stuffed our faces with burgers and margaritas!
Today is a play day in the sewing room. I was forced to pause in the middle of working on The Wedding Quilt to invite a squirrel into my space. It is the fault of Diann from Little Penguin Quilts, who posted about
this adorable table runner, and I could not resist. I plan to finish it this week and use it on our dining room table.
I have half of the rows sewn together for The Wedding Quilt. I need to hurry up and finish because my quilt assistant Toby keeps pulling the squares off the design wall then rearranging them up on the floor.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
what a wonderful looking family and always so nice when they move a little closer to you. Have to laugh blame it on Diann for starting a new project LOL I look at her embroidery now and then and think why I'm I not embroidering! like I need one more project to work on!
ReplyDeleteOWO Beautiful family photo, Linda.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, which color are you using for your runner? I though I had the perfect combo of navies, but my blues are too close in value! So, I think I am using a purple combo even though I don't really use purple in my decor? Oh well, it's the fun of making, right? Can't wait to see yours. PS, LOVE your husband's T-shirt! Chrisknits
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like you had a great time. I love the new apartment...and how nice to have him closer. Watch out for those squirrels...they are pesky project interrupters that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a family gathering filled with love and much laughter. How nice that he will be closer to you now. 😉
ReplyDeleteYour Grandson‘s new place looks wonderful! I’ll bet he is so excited. I know I would be. I’m excited about your table runner. I love the fabric that you’ve chosen, and cannot wait to see the end result. That is one of the reasons why I wish I knew how to quilt, I could make my own table runner. Pattie
ReplyDeleteDoes Toby, you assistant, have good taste and purpose to his rearranging your layout? LOL... other than just having fun for himself?
ReplyDeleteWith him being closer to you, I hope that you are able to have more frequent visits. :) Thanks for linking up with the Sew & Tell. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLinda you have a beautiful family! I need to get my Brandon T-Shirt, but would prefer one that says the same with different words!!!! How nice to have your grandson so close along with the two little ones. Have a great day! Hugs - stay cool and wear an oxygen mask with the African Dust Bowl coming your way!
