This past week we ran errands, did some gardening, finally had a bit of rain and relief from the low 90s and wind, and babysat Everett while our daughter ran a few errands.
Riley Blake Design challenge final blocks
My goals last week:
✅1. Finish layout for The Wedding Quilt - I hope to do a post about it this week! - Done and posted here, although I've already changed the layout again - lol!
2. Catch up on Pieces in the Garden for last month - Did not do
✅3. Finish RBD blocks - Done and pictured above. Instead of doing the last block (called A Single Blossom), I repeated the Sundial block
This week I hope to accomplish:
1. Get wedding quilt flimsy finished and decided on backing.
2. Start on Pieces of the Garden for this month, then do the blocks for last month
3. Doctor appointments
4. Think about a layout for RBD blocks. Although I like the layout suggested by Riley Blake Design, I just don't want to make any more blocks for it. I might do big sashing or solid blocks of fabric in between the blocks.
And now we can't wait to see your post! Just click on the button below and join in the fun. Be sure to come back later in the week to read other blogs and offer support, be inspired, or just say HI!

Those Riley Blake blocks are so pretty! I love the plaid you're including - that's something I've never sewn with much, except a bit in a flannel quilt years ago. It's really fun in your blocks! Thanks for hosting us, Linda!
ReplyDeletesounds like you will be busy this week and babysitting grandchildren is always a plus
ReplyDeleteI really like the two blocks you showed today. And, I notice they are super easy to make with half square triangles. I may have to go take a look at the RBD website to see the others. I usually don’t do sew alongs that are samplers but these two blocks are calling my name.
ReplyDeleteBoth those RBD blocks are really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mary. :)
DeleteThe Riley Blake blocks are so pretty. You had a busy week. I have to admit that gardening is cutting into my quilting time too.

DeleteLove your RB blocks! So glad you made progress and already changed the plan for the wedding quilt. Wishing you good luck with your week!
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks!! We have had mild temps so far, dare I hope our July 9th won't be too hot? Central Indiana isn't so nice to us in the summer.
ReplyDeleteYou made good progress last week. Good luck with this week's goals!
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots of different layouts on the Riley Blake challenge page on Facebook and so many of them look great.
ReplyDeleteYour Riley Blake blocks are so pretty! I've enjoyed seeing everyone's blocks so much that I may have to join her next event! I cut out my Pieces in the Garden blocks and will hopefully get to them soon. Thank you so much for hosting such a great link up!

ReplyDeleteHey Marsha! Yes I need to catch up on my blog reading. ;)
DeleteI like those challenge blocks! and please - keep the heat in TX.. haha - I want 70's!! ;-) glad you got some relief!
ReplyDeleteI'm late commenting, since your post just dropped into my inbox (on Friday???) - I usually remember to go looking for it, but this week I forgot. Those blocks are looking really good!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe that it’s June. Time flies by so quickly that it’s almost terrifying. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to, and marvel at your creativity, dedication, and production level. I decided I was going to start cross stitching again. A friend had told me how she basted grid marks onto her fabric so that she can keep track of where she’s stitching making it easier to read the chart. So, I decided to do that. Then I started stitching, and realized I was off a bit, so that week of sewing those gridlines was all for naught. Pattie
