To Do Tuesday 7-19-22

Welcome to To Do Tuesday, a linkup for you to keep track of your goals and share with others about projects and happenings in your world this summer! Please click on the couple above if you need more information.

I saw an Instagram reel showing acrylic bins used as fabric storage. I found these 12x6x4 ones on sale at Target and bought a dozen. I filled them with fabric and then that led to this: 🢃

After filling the bins, I decided to organize my messy, cat-pawed stash. There is something so relaxing about organizing fabric, and a new appreciation for my stash is gained in the process - although that did not keep me from ordering more fabric!

Doesn't everyone bake during 100 degree+ heat?
These are the potato crescent rolls I made last week - they were so good. I used this Land O'Lakes recipe and substituted a russet potato for sweet potatoes and left out the spices. This is a dependable recipe that I have used for years at Thanksgiving.

My playlist last week:
✔1. Sew backing for The Wedding Quilt - As Diann wondered, if I thought about it, does it count? I found two yards of fabric in my stash to add to the 4 yards I purchased two weeks ago, so that should be plenty to piece a backing. The solution hit me at 3:30am yesterday when Toby the cat woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep!
✔2. Finish sewing rows together for RSS (Ruby Star Society) quilt - Although not finished, more rows were sewn together
✅3. Post about Moda Block Head block 16 - Posted here

Tomorrow we have to be at the hospital at 6:30am for cataract surgery for my right eye, while my left eye continues to amaze me with improved vision. So my playlist for the coming week is short:
1. Rest and recover
2. Do whatever I feel like doing

And now please share your list at the link below! And if you have time go visit others' blogs for inspiration or squirrel-spiration. 😁

  1. Happy Tuesday, Linda. I hope all goes well with the 2nd surgery and wishing you a very speedy recovery. Your quilt room looks fabulous. It is always fun to reorganize fabric and sometimes rediscover some as well. I will definitely have to try the crescent rolls; they sound so interesting. Have a blessed week and thank you for hosting the link party.

  3. Your fabric cabinet is super colorful and organized, Linda.
The potatoes bread looks delicious and. I love almost everything made with potatoes. But sure I will not bake under high temperature. Good lucky with the right eye surgery tomorow. I will be thinking on you.

  4. I'm so glad your first surgery went so well and you are experience no set backs with your recovery. How exciting to have your other eye surgery tomorrow. By this time next week, you will be back to full vision and sewing away!

I don't bake in 100* weather, we don't have air conditioning in our house but we will in our new house! Baking will happen then for sure! Your rolls looked delicious, happy recovery!

  9. I enjoy organizing my fabric as well. And I think it's really important not just for tidiness but to *know* my stash. I get re-inspired with them all over again, too. The bread looks heavenly--oh do I love bread!!! Good luck tomorrow!

  10. I did a little fabric organizing yesterday too; it always makes me feel a bit better when things are put away. I have a similar recipe for those buns, but we call them butterhorns. My grandmother made them each Christmas. Hope your surgery goes well!

  11. All the best for the surgery. Love your fabric tidy up, looks great and I chuckled at the buying more. We all do it! Here we have dry July for alcohol where they don't drink, but I am trying to do no buy July. Ouch! Those rolls look absolutely delicious.

  12. Hi Linda! Good luck tomorrow with your eye surgery. It will be amazing when your surgery is complete - just think how well you will be able to see! Hmm. Those acrylic bins look like they are a handy size for fabrics. I rarely go to Target - it just isn't convenient with non-stop road construction around their location. It might be worth the headache to check them out! Thank you for today's linky party. Rest sounds like just the ticket in this heat, especially after surgery. {{Hugs}} and healing prayers. ~smile~ Roseanne

  14. Oh that beautifully organized fabric stash! Every once in a while I'll straighten my stacks and pile them neatly back on the shelves. But all it takes is looking for one fabric to set it all a mess again. But for the day or two when it is neat -- awwwwwww. You are now on the way to recovery. I understand it takes about 2 weeks after the last eye is done for the eyes to heal. I'm in the position of whether I want to have mine removed now or wait for a bit still. Decisions, decisions....

  17. I'm sure you'll be able to go twice as fast once your eye is healed, so you deserve a week off :)
