Last week I had an appointment with a surgical dermatologist in Plano, about 55 miles south of us. I will have three skin cancers removed - two from my nose and one on my cheek - then travel the mile or so to the plastic surgeon for "reconstructive surgery". I have a consultation with the plastic surgeon a week from tomorrow, and he will set the surgery date.
Started my second hat - this time "crimson and cream" OU Sooners colors!
I'm currently crocheting in the evenings and loving it. You can read more about my renewed love for crochet and yarns right here.
Got the RSS quilt sandwiched and Longmire is oiled and bobbin and thread ready!
My playlist from last week:
1. RSS quilt - Done and ready to quilt! This quilt is for my youngest granddaughter.
2. Wedding quilt - No progress
3. Crochet hat - In progress - Frogged several starts but finally decided on simple single crochet stitch
4. Visit a dermatology surgery center - Done
Playlist for this coming week:
1. RSS quilt
2. Wedding quilt
3. Crochet hat

What a beautiful photo of the Queen and perfect sentiments. Like you glued to TV every step of way. Skin cancers are such a nuisance, all the best for the journey with yours. A long arm would be nice but my home is just too small for such. My sit down Q20 is pretty good though.
ReplyDeleteI hope that all goes well with your skin cancer surgeries. I'm so glad we have plastic surgeons and that he is so close to your dermatologist. Happy crocheting!
ReplyDeleteAutumn and Winter are perfect seasons for crocheting, so enjoy your evenings. Seems like the longarm is ready for a new quilting. Glad to know you are now free of skin Cancer spots. Have a wonderful week, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope all goes well with the surgeries - prayers for you
ReplyDeleteI knew you had this appointment coming up but sorry you will need to see two doctors about this and have the reconstructive surgery as well. I'm sure it will go just fine but will need a little recovery time and waiting for things to heal. I agree with you on the queen. I like to watch some of it and find it interesting and I think it is because of the ceremony and tradition involved - it is interesting to watch and I've had tears also.
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that... with the facial skin cancer and plastic surgeon. Just do everything they say and it will all heal nicely.
ReplyDeleteI have been the same way about Queen Elizabeth's passing, and it surprised me, too. It's been so interesting to learn more about her and the royal family and all their traditions. I'm sorry you have to go through those skin cancer procedures - I bet you'll be happy to get those out of the way. Enjoy your quilting and crochet while you wait!
ReplyDeleteI too am following some of the Queen's final journey. Glad the preliminary work is done with the skin cancer, and on to healing and reconstruction. Good luck with all of that and with your quilting for the week!
ReplyDeleteWishing you good luck with those surgeries and speedy recovery time.
ReplyDeleteI hope your surgeries will go well. I agree with all you have stated about dear Queen Elizabeth II. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best with your upcoming surgeries.
ReplyDeleteWe've been following the news reports on the Queen's final journey as well. I'm so glad you are having that surgery done and moving forward with the reconstruction and healing. Not fun stuff, but important. You have some fun projects going on!
ReplyDeleteWishing you all of he best on your upcoming surgeries, Linda. Great start on your new crochet project.
ReplyDeleteSaying a prayer for a successful treatment and speedy healing Linda. Enjoy your week and the pomp and ceremony of our Queen’s final journey. She was a dignified monarch, but had such a sweet smile (and a great evil eye when required) 😉
ReplyDeleteFirst timer on your blog and enjoyed your tribute to the Queen. Glad you are taking care of your spots. I love TX because my children live near the Dallas airport.
ReplyDeleteWell welcome, and I hope you will return and leave your name! Do your children live near Love Field or DFW airport?
DeleteHi Linda: I was surprised with how emotional I was with the Queen's passing as well. She has been an icon my entire life. It will be strange to have a King in her place. Good luck with your continued treatment. I recently picked back up crocheting as well. I usually like to work with pearl cotton and dmc thread so for a change of pace, I am actually doing a granny square afghan when it moves me. Looking forward to seeing the finish on the RSS quilt.
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy - thank you for your kind words. I've never tried crochet with those smaller threads but I need to! I'll have to explore your blog to see if you've posted about it.
DeleteHi Linda! Just checking up on you before I return to the fold on Tuesday. I hope the visit to the plastic surgeon goes well and that the surgery date is set soon. I had a skin cancer spot removed on my arm near my elbow. A very odd spot to have skin cancer as it is on the inside of the arm - no sun exposure. It was painless. I kept the sutures covered with a thin layer of vaseline and they healed nicely. I hope you can have a similar experience. How are your eyes doing after the cataract surgeries? Have a wonderful Sunday, my friend. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
