New quilt flimsy - Kaleidoscope
Last week these were my goals:
❌1. Make my block for the 2023 SAHRR! No, still need to pick fabrics!!
✅2. Pick out fabrics for the 2023 RBD Block Challenge. - Done, and I pretty much stuck with the colors shown on this page. The first block is available today!
✅3. Work on UFOs - Done - I made a flimsy called Kaleidoscope! (see photo above)
I am hoping to participate in the Cross My Heart QAL, an All People Quilt sponsored quilt-along featuring Cross My Heart pattern by Wendy Sheppard. The problem is I haven't yet chosen my fabrics!
My playlist for the coming week:
1. Make the starting block for SAHRR
2. Piece backing, sandwich, and quilt Kaleidoscope
3. Make RBD challenge block
4. Get started on Cross My Heart QAL
I am joining in with all the other bloggers on Carol's linkup party right here! Go see their exciting plans for 2023!
WOW Linda, what a gorgeous sunrise!!!!
ReplyDeleteKaleidoscope flimsy looks great, so happy!
Good lock with your list for this week. Happy 2023!!
wow that sunrise so pretty. Glad you got to see your daughter and the little ones
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a holiday weekend with your daughter and the grands! Kaleidoscope is so fun and full of color - I love how you combined the two different blocks. And the Cross My Heart QAL is tempting - that's a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice, quiet weekend. And boo for USC losing to Tulane. It was shocking. But we've said all along we had no defense and it showed in the last few minutes. Have a great, quilting week. I expect to see more quilting done! 😁
ReplyDeleteKaleidoscope is very pretty, the cross my heart quilt SAL looks like fun!. Glad you had a good time with your daughter and grands. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about my flying geese sashing, you keep adding to the paper base. Then you trim the edges with the piece is all sewn. Foundation paper piecing was a challenge to figure out when I started pp several years ago but once I caught on, I love it!
Lovely to have some special family time. I love your flimsy Kaleidoscope! it is amazing and what a lot of work went into that. I am not doing the RBC quilt this year so will follow yours with interest.
ReplyDeleteKaleidoscope is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! How did it feel to just link up today and not be worried about the linky party? It looks like everyone had a wonderful together for the holidays. It's so nice to be together, isn't it?! Your Kaleidoscope quilt is gorgeous! The perfect name for all those lovely fabrics. You did great on your list considering it was the holidays and you had company. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the SAHRR! You'll laugh when you see our center block. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThat quilt with the hearts on it is so pretty. I have a friend with a wonderful collection of quilts and she uses them as table coverings. They don’t eat on them, mind you, but her table always has a lovely quilt on it. I’m thinking how beautiful this one would look on a table. Pattie @Olla-Podrida
